Our Values & Approach

Relationship-based. We believe that personal relationships grounded in trust, dignity, and respect are the foundation of great teams, effective collaboration and successful projects.

Humility. We believe that being humble is an ongoing, lifelong practice. This includes cultural humility – a key pillar of cultural safety – particularly in our work with Indigenous communities and newcomer communities. We ask for guidance and advice from the people we serve about how to work in a good, safe, appropriate way – and we diligently follow that guidance and advice.

Collaborative. We use a collaborative approach for all of our projects and engagements. Genuine, meaningful, appropriate collaboration consistently leads to stronger buy-in, better results, and more durable positive impacts.

Adaptable. Every community and organization has its own unique culture, context, strengths, and challenges. We adapt our approach to every project to ensure that every client’s unique needs are met in the best way possible.

Cultural safety. We have strong experience working with Indigenous service providers. Nevertheless, on every new project, we seek guidance and advice from the people we are serving about how to work in a culturally safe way based on their unique context and needs. We then diligently follow that guidance, and we seek ongoing feedback about how we’re doing.

Trauma-informed. Many of our projects in health and human services require trauma-informed approaches that are tailored to each client’s unique context and the people they serve. Through close collaboration with – and guidance from – leaders, frontline staff, community members, people with lived and living experience, and relevant credentialed professionals, we design and implement processes that are trauma-informed, appropriate, and effective.

Quality. We aim for excellence and ensure the work we do and the things we create are top quality.

Value for money. We are firmly committed to delivering excellent value for money to our clients.
